Calendar sponsorships are purchased from sponsors to appear on traditional calendars created for 12 and 16 month scheduling. Calendars are often given out by small community sports teams and other community organizations for a small fee or as gifts for participating in certain community events, such as athletic events or musical events, or local theatre company performances, dance recitals or fundraisers. Calendar sponsors have their local ads with showing they have contributed to community events or to the specific event where the calendar is given out.
There are different sized ads for different levels of calendar sponsorship and sponsors ads may be discussed when the sponsorship is sold to the small business or individual. Also, a calendar sponsor's funding may purchase the whole calendar cost and therefore receive creative billing throughout the calendar in designated but very visible areas or, companies may donate time or skills and receive an entire page calendar sponsor credit. Also, the sponsor may have donated the printing process of creating the calendar and so therefore receive the sponsorship for contrbuted help as opposed to a funds contribution.
