I launched find a sponsor in 200X after getting a deal on talking to a driver in the Craftsman Nascar Truck Series. I was working for a company that a big online presence and several retail locations throughout the midwest. After declining the fee to sponsor that truck I got a call several weeks later from the owner and driver. He said we could have the entire Truck for a very reasonable flat fee. In addition to the sponsorship opportunity he agreed to bring the truck by our retail location and sign autographs for an hour. It was a win win.
Later that year I got a call from a gentlemen that offered me a sponsorship opportunity for Findadentist.com This marketing hustler sat in the locker rooms at professional tennis events waiting for low seeded player to put up against a top seeded player that was guaranteed to get air time. If my memory serves me correctly he was at the US Open. What he would do is get a hand full of interested advertisers and let them know what it would cost to embroider their logo on the sleeve of this tennis players shirt.
Both of these situations are what lead to the launch of findasponsor.com. I thought that there must be a ton of people that are looking for sponsorship revenue and there are always advertisers looking for affordable ways to get their brand in front of an attentive audience.
After launching the site we soon realized there was so much more to the business than just advertising and revenue. There are people that need help with their academic programs. There are athletic departments that do not have the funds necessary to travel or compete at the national level. We are not suggesting that findasponsor.com is a place to get all your needs met but it just one more website that could get your message heard by the right person.
Raising funds is very difficult and it usually doesn't happen but every once in a while a wish and a need is answered by some generous and helpful person or business.
Good luck and thank you for visiting findasponsor.com
Sincerely,
Brian Benko
